Photo Number 993

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
Postcard Charles Edward Hosford DL Antiques
I was very excited to find this postcard.  Can you guess why?
Postcard Charles Edward Hosford DL Antiques back
To my Uncle Edd-  Charles Edward Hosford
Now this was what I was excited about..a footstool with horns for legs.  This one is in the Historical Museum in Wadena Minnesota.  It is the only one I have seen  in this area.

Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again:)

Update from Iggy:
The 1940 US census seems to indicate that Charles was born in 1912 and was living with his Uncle Edward C Aldrich in Champion Township, Wilkin, Minnesota.

It appears Charles' father was also Charles Edward and the father died in 1925.

The 1920 and 1930 US census show him living with his grandfather, James Aldrich.

  1. Do you think the museums stool once had a fancy ruffle?

    1. Thanks Iggy! Yes I think the museum piece did have some kind of trim at some time. These stools were works of art! :)

  2. That footstool is interesting to say the least... Definitely ugly in my opinion!
