This is a Cabinet Card from Duluth Minnesota.
Such a happy couple. They both look like they are frowning. Remember they did not smile because the exposure time was too great and most of the people back then had no dental care. They both have lovely corsages, he wears that plaid bowtie well and her dress appears to be a dark color damask with a white bodice and a lovely brooch.
Most likely this photo is from the late 1890’s..1897 or later.
This is the back of the card.
I believe the photographer was Andrew Forsander of Negaunee Mich.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
I love your site and old photos!
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one to date because you don't see much of the dress, although her hairstyle is more 1880s. It could be her personal preference though. The dress seems a little more 80s to me as well, but perhaps on the cusp of the 90s, or even early 90s. Again, it could be her preference. Not all women embraced the gigantic sleeves of the 90s! :-)
