Photo Number 824

This is the first in a series of photos.  They are all Real Photo Postcards that I purchased at the first antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.
Postcard Cyko Lizzie Dawsons three kids Dorset 1
Stanley, Jean and Thomas.

The Postcard reads:

This is not very good the sun was too strong but you can see what the(y)  look like this was taken in Washongal (Washougal) just before we left for the east.

This Cyko postcard was used from 1904 to 1920.  I will guess that it was taken right around 1914.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

Update from Iggy:
Washougal, Washington (state) is just upstream on the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. It was incorporated in 1908.

If home is "back east", that leaves nearly the entire USA. :)

I love the two guy's ties. One narrow and one fat, both way too short. Possibly brothers(-in-law)? I wonder what the fat tie guy is holding in his hands. I first thought it was a pipe, but now I don't think so.

    1. They are all siblings. I thought it was a fancy pipe also. Thanks! :)

    2. Iggy, to West Coasters, yes, everything else in the entire USA is "back east." It took a little getting used to for this transplanted New Yorker to get accustomed to it. Back in NY, the only things "east" are The East!

  2. I noticed the ties, also.

  3. I was thinking the object looks like a fancy spindle or a finial. Interesting.
