People refer to a "dog's life" as being bad but horses had it much worse than dogs. If a horse wasn't pulling something it was carrying something. Galloping around all day with a fat dude on your back was not much fun, I'm sure -- but better than going to a glue factory. Which reminds me of the Christmas taffy the wife made last week . . .
