Dear Grandma DL ant
The spirit certainly moves us both at the same time.  I was so glad to get your good letter “try again” Come out as soon as you can. Polly

Dear Grandma DL ant back
The postcard was mailed in Atlantic Iowa on Apr 2 1913 it was addressed to Mrs. E J Nelson Durant Iowa
Dear Grandma, How are you? We want you to come out here just as quick as you can.  I took this with my camera. Mama took one of us four children but she jiggled the camera and made it blurred.  Well Good by From Mark.
It is 228 miles from Durant to Atlantic Iowa…Grandma probably would have to take the train.
Thanks for stopping by.

Birth 16 May 1844 Bethel, Sullivan County, New York

She had six sons and one daughter.

Mark's father was

Death DEC 07, 1960 • Wilton, Muscatine, Iowa (Find A Grave Memorial ID 101266839 has an obit)

And his mother was called Polly.

His sister Gertrude Mae (I suspect in the photo):

Gertrude Mae Nelson

which might explain how the photo ended up in Detroit Lakes. Gertrude married Milton R Behrens.

  3. Gertrude's obituary mentions a son living in Minnesota.
