Any idea of Louise's age or when this photograph may have been taken? Or even whether this is a married or maiden name? She does appear quite young to me, but that is no guarantee.
I found several different entries in Ancestry for a Louise Liedtke--and some for Luedtke, as well, though that may be an error in transcription for some records.
Hope someone finds this one! Glad there was a name, at least!
Well, that opens up some more possibilities. I had guessed a later date. There is a Louise Liedtke who was born in 1858, but that was her married name. She came to this country from Russia (according to ship's passenger list) along with her husband Friedrich and two others with that surname in their travel party. Their intended destination was "Dakota."
From other records, I saw that this same Louise died in Snohomish County, Washington, in August 1937, and that her father's name was likely Leopold Siskowsky.
But that's only helpful if this Louise was one and the same with the married Louise Liedtke. Of course, there are some others with that same name, which doesn't make things any easier. Hopefully, a relative will come searching for her name and stumble upon your site, Far Side!
Interesting hair arrangement!

I will guess she is 20 years old and that the photo was taken about 1880 plus or minus a few years. No idea where it was taken :)
