This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
Someone was going for a sleigh ride.
This photo did not scan well, its surface is very reflective.
This postcard was mailed in 1904. Mailed from Anthony Minn at GOVMERGHT ?? STA
It arrived in St Paul Minn on Feb 23 1904. Hopefully to Miss Nora Helgeson at 1903 10th Street St Paul Minn.
Thanks for stopping by.
I am always in awe when I see those huge horses!
ReplyDeleteThe post card was mailed from Anthony, Minnesota -- Anthony was the birthplace of Nora Helgeson -- see: http://www.genealogy.com/ftm/j/e/n/Ronald-G-Jensen/COL13-0045.html
ReplyDeleteNora's title is "Miss" in 1904, as she did not marry until 1913, according to: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rigg-39
Which is interesting in that her daughter, Reita Rigg, was born in 1912: http://sortedbyname.com/pages/s120493.html
Reita graduated from St. Olaf's college in 1934: http://www.e-yearbook.com/yearbooks/St_Olaf_College_Viking_Yearbook/1934/Page_170.html
Reita married Robert Steele: http://graylight.nfshost.com/Genealogy/fam00110.htm
Reita and Robert ended up living in California: http://www.leagle.com/decision/196098519fwtcm966_1807/STEELE%20v.%20COMMISSIONER
And that's where the case grows cold.
