Isn’t this just the cutest little girl? I would have purchased the postcard even with out a name on the back.

Nearby? Well, sorta... San Lorenzo is in the Bay Area, but Shirley's aunt and uncle were buried over the pass in the Central Valley.
DeleteStill, how sad...and what an adorable photo! I can see why you bought it, Far Side. Wonder what her story was...and why she died so young.
How very sad about her burial. But she is remembered today all these years later by those who see this photo.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI want to let you know that your blog is listed in today's Fab Finds post at http://janasgenealogyandfamilyhistory.blogspot.com/2016/04/follow-friday-fab-finds-for-april-22.html
Have a great weekend!
Everyone talks about how we live longer now due to our better lifestyles but I wonder if it is partly due to the deaths of such young children. So many couple lost young children.....now children make it to adulthood with better healthcare for children and of course vaccinations and the like.
ReplyDeleteAdorable old photo!
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely the cutest. It's sad that she had such a short life - but I'm glad that she is being remembered via this post.
