Photo Number 2156

This is a homemade Valentine Card that I purchased at the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Walter must be 7 years and 4 months old and his brother Harold 4 years 4 months old.  At one time this may have been glued into a photo album or scrapbook because it has black fuzzy residue on the back.

Harold E. "Doc" Hanewald was born on October 31, 1923, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to William and Marvel (Bradt) Hanewald. He graduated from Hazen High School in Hazen, ND in 1941. Harold served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Harold died July 13 2012.

Walter Hanewald died just a few day ago in North Dakota. (February 4 2016)  He was a Doctor.

  6. Walter C. Hanewald MD, Dickinson, died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the St. Luke’s Home Dickinson. Services will take place at a later date. Burial will take place at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

  7. Harold "Doc" E. Hanewald
    October 31, 1923 - July 13, 2012

    Harold E. "Doc" Hanewald, 88, of Solana Rd., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1406 W. Blodgett St., with Reverend Phil Huston officiating.
    Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.
    Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
    Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
    Harold E. "Doc" Hanewald was born on October 31, 1923, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to William and Marvel (Bradt) Hanewald. He graduated from Hazen High School in Hazen, ND in 1941. Harold served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Carlson. Harold worked in the retail business for many years and they retired to Carlsbad in 1988. He worked part-time for Carlsbad Radio about 20 years.
    Harold was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty Hanewald in 2011.
