There is surprisingly little interaction between the mother and child in this photo. The way the child is perched on the chair arm is unusual.
Oh, how frustrating...a name...but not a name! I'd vote for the "W"--but you know how my eyes are.
I agree with Jacqi - the first letter looks like a "W" to me. I think the name might be Waldner.
