Photo Number 2022

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.Cabinet Card Family with three boys DL Antiques

Fallman was the photographer in a Parlor Photo Car.  Photographers that could afford to rent or purchase a railroad car would travel from town to town, the car could be disconnected and move on when ever the client base dried up.  It must have been a real novelty…especially if you had never had your photo taken before.

I think that the two littlest boys look just like their father and the older boy just like his mother.

I will guess that this photo is taken in the late 1880’s.  Sadly there is no identification.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I would love to know who people are. It is sad when they wrote no id on the photos.

  2. I had no idea about the railcar photographers, but it makes good sense.

  3. Well, that's a novel marketing idea! Great expressions on the faces, despite having to hold so still. Sometimes, that personality can't help but come out.

  4. Such severe haircuts for all of them! Makes me think lice.
