Photo Number 2015

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
Gerhardt Baarstad Place
Looks like two women, three children and a man on the porch.  There is a baby buggy and a bicycle in the yard and the house has four lightening rods.  The house looks like it has a basement too.
Gerhardt Baarstad Place
Kind of a ghostly figure in the upper window too…or is it my imagination?

  4. This is the exact same kind of house that my grandmother live in when she was on the farm.

  5. I wonder if that was Gehard Baarstad's place when the photo was taken. Or is that just an entry by the shop keeper who remembered the house?

I had that type of experience when I went back to look at my great grandparents' old place--same time period, but the local historical museum didn't know what house I was referring to, because they all grew up calling it by the next owner's name.

  6. It's funny how many of these family house photos I've seen where there is someone inside looking out. Always quite mysterious. You have to wonder why didn't they join the rest of family? Were they shut-ins? Or locked in the attic to be kept away from the family? All sort of ghostly photo bombers.
