Photo Number 1987

This is a Real Photo Postcard from the Antique Mall in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.  It is a AZO postcard from 1904 to 1920.   I will guess that this one was taken closer to 1904.

I wonder did they say  “We will meet you on Sunday at the bridge?”

  1. An old timber railroad trestle. Not many of those still exist.

  2. I find the logs in the river interesting. Do you think the logs are on the way to a sawmill? I don't know much about the logging industry, but I do recall hearing logs were pushed down the river in the early days.

    1. I suspect the railroad was a "logging" one - set up to get timber down from the hills.

I hope none of these people got hurt - foolish sitting on a RR bridge!
