Photo Number 1950

This is a photo from the antique shop in Wahpeton North Dakota.

Helmer & Laura Johnson    Father’s Cousin – Lamoure
Haynes Selby Ave Cor. Virginia in St Paul is the photographer. The Haynes photographer might be Jack Ellis Haynes  who was at that address in the 1880’s…or Frank Jay Haynes who was at the address from 1895 to 1908.

The photo measures 5 x7.  It is larger than a Cabinet Card, and from the ladies blouse and skirt I think it is from the 1895 to 1908 timeframe.  Too bad she dropped her handkerchief on the floor.

Lamoure could be in North Dakota.

Helmer Johnson (1861 - 1931) and Laura Johnson nee' Hendrickson (1859 - 1942) are buried in High Prairie Cemetery, LaMoure, LaMoure County, North Dakota.

Helmer immigrated from Norway in 1885 to the USA as did Laura (they were married in c. 1881).

The 1900 US census shows 2 sons, Claus (Oct 1880 in Norway)  and Henry (Sep 1893 in ND)

They also had 5 daughters, (ages as of 1900), Petria Johnson, 17; Julia Johnson, 12; Helga Johnson 10; Lena Johnson 8.
