  1. I suspect the last name is spelled wrong - but I'm not sure what the right spelling might have been.

  2. Henry Erdtmann Henning (1863 - 1902) was the photographer. He opened his shop in Galena in 1885 and died of Bright's Disease (a disorder of the kidneys caused by protein in the urine) in 1902.

The photo must date from 1885-1902.

  3. According to some previous information Craig put out on ancestry: William A. Knuckey (b.1858) OR William H. Knuckey (b. 1861) at Galena, Jo Daviess, Illinois abt 1895. This could be either of two cousins born and raised in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. William H. Knuckey was living in Kern County, CA in 1920, and the photo was found in Sacramento, CA. Note on back is: "Wm. Nuckey, uncle by marriage". The Galena, IL photographer H.K. Henning died in 1902. Hopefully this gives us some more to work with.

  4. Oh, my! That gaze is almost arresting! I'm guessing this one should place at the earlier end of Iggy's range for the photographer (1885-1902). It seems to be an earlier style of photograph.
