This is a Real Photo Postcard from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
I believe the photographer is Chas E Libby Spokane
He was a photographer who started out taking photos with his sister Addie then in 1901 he opened his own studio. He was a prolific photographer.
This is a Artura Real Photo Postcard used from 1910 to 1924.
I am not sure why people were photographed in their winter coats, was it status to have a wife with furs? Were they travelling? In this photo she has really long furs…and possibly some kind of fur hat. He looks ready to go someplace with his driving gloves and his bowler hat.
Thanks for stopping by.
His shoes has a good shine to!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was a big deal to have those furs! She looks like she is holding hers on display.
ReplyDeleteLong lost fashion.... you think it will ever "cycle back"?
ReplyDeleteI have a rppc as well, and I guess, back when the authentics are done with pictures to send to family and friends, they want to be seen as having money and doing well
