Emma Rodgers
Ida Anderson or Oda Anderson
I wonder if they were sisters or just friends?
Thanks for stopping by.
Update from Iggy:
The 1895 Kansas State Census shows an Ida Anderson (c. 1888), living in Padonia (a mile north of Hiawatha), Kansas, with W. H. Rodgers, age 45 and Emma Rodgers, age 32 (June 20, 1863 in Illinois - May 1, 1898.)
Emma Louella Rodgers Nee Conner was the daughter of Hugh Conner and Mary Levinia Hornbach. Mary was the second wife of Levi Anderson. So Emma and Ida were step-sisters.

There is an Ida Perpetua Anderson (10 August 1866 that died in Padonia on 11 December 1936 : Find A Grave Memorial# 19389080) It's not clear from the photo - what the "situation" is... wrong date in the Kansas census? Did Ida have a daughter named Ida? and so on.

Emma L. Rodgers (even if it says Rogers on the photo) is Find A Grave Memorial# 19408102, and was the wife of William H. Rogers. However the the 1885 Kansas State census lists her as Emma Rodgers and single?

  3. Ah, the connection.

    1. Depending on which of those dates were correct, could these two rather have been half sisters?

    2. I'm pretty sure the census was mis-indexed and the 1888 was really 1868...

And I'm 99% sure this is Ida Perpetua Anderson (10 August 1866 that died in Padonia on 11 December 1936 : Find A Grave Memorial# 19389080). She and Emma had the same mother - that makes them half-sisters. I misspoke calling the step-sisters.
