Photo Number 1807

This is a CdV from Craig’s Collection.

Grandpa Duncan

Huey was the photographer in Windsor Missouri

I will guess that this is a 1870’s photograph.

Grandpa looks how old?  Maybe 50?

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. There are a lot of Duncans out there - but one possibility is the family of Samuel Duncan (b. Oct. 23, 1801 d. Oct. 30, 1882) buried in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, Henry County, Missouri. His Find A Grave Memorial# 68716750 has a short bio and tells of two sons.

One of those sons, William L. Duncan (b. Feb. 18, 1828 - 1911) is Find A Grave Memorial# 39650404 and he has an extensive bio. The other son is James M Duncan (1821 - 1879) is Find A Grave Memorial# 68724506.

Given your photo-dating and subject age, perhaps the man in the photo is one of the two sons?

    1. From the obituary I will guess that it might be William but that is only a guess...because he was in Windsor form 1874 onward:)

  2. If his hair and eyes were dark, I'd think he was Native American.
