A young boy. No studio name.
Aunt Nellie Yours lovingly Leon G. Lewis
I will guess this boy is about 10 years old and the photo was taken in the early 1900’s.
Thanks for stopping by.

Well, I thought it wouldn't be too difficult to find an online family tree with a name like Leon--at least not as common as John or something like that--and it wouldn't be too hard to find that name matched with a Nellie.
ReplyDeleteSo...I came close. I found a Leon G. Lewis in upstate New York, born 1894. The only catch: the Nellie in this family was Leon's sister, not his aunt. Unless that sister was named after an aunt, I guess this one's a bum lead...
Time for Iggy!!!
Given so many of Craig's photos seem to be of family that end up on the west coast, my "guess" would be that this is Leon George Ray Lewis (5 Oct 1891 in Erie, Warren County, PA - before 1930 in Issaquah, King, Washington) but I've absolutely no proof whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteI was contacted by email the photo was found on Ancestry, he contacted Craig and then me. I mailed the photo today Feb 10 2015 to David in Washington
