Thanks for stopping by.

From Iggy and Jacqi:
This appears to be Galen Howell Clevenger (1 Sep 1879 - ?) graduation photo - he graduated from the South Dakota State School of Mines, 1901 and later got a PhD and was a professor at Sanford University. Galen Howell Clevenger died in 1953 in Barnstable, Massachusetts.

His son Galen William Clevenger and his grandson (living) in Golden Colorado, are both Mining Engineers too.

  1. Well, even though I thought this was a pretty clear hint, it apparently doesn't provide much of a lead. There were some Clevengers in Rapid City in the 1930s and later, but not any with those initials. I did find one who may have attended Stanford University in California, and a possibility in Virginia, but nothing more specific. I'm surprised Iggy hasn't come up with the answer already. Maybe after I return home, I can try my hand at it with more resources, if Iggy hasn't beat me to it :)

  2. This is the person Jacqi thinks it is - or at least I think so too.

    2. I sent an email to a Mining Company that may be able to contact the grandson Jeffery.
