He was born on July 1, 1924 to Melvin and Clara (Warburg) Peterson in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was in charge of gun crews in the Armed Guard. By the time he came home in 1945 at the age of 21 he had been to 25 foreign ports in 18 countries. 

On September 24, 1948 Cliff married Ellen Thom and lived in Fergus Falls where he was employed. Later the family moved to Moorhead, Minnesota.

He and his wife had several children.
Clifford died April 13, 2012 in Mesa Arizona.

    Clifford Odin Peterson of Mesa, Arizona and Fergus Falls, Minnesota passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa on April 13, 2012 at the age of 87.

  3. I mailed this photo today December 12, 2014 to Linda in Wisconsin. She is Clifford's daughter and they only have one other photo of Clifford as a child.

    Hi Connie,

    I’ve received the postcard photograph of my dad. It’s precious to our family because we only have one tiny photo of Dad as a child. Amazing that you found it in an antique shop. Iggy’s research is correct. Dad was a World War II veteran. He and Mom had three girls and a boy (I’ve passed a copy of the photo on to each of them). Thanks again and also a special thank you to my cousin Claudia who happened to find this photograph on your site.
