Photo Number 1640

This is a snapshot from the antique shop in Duluth Minnesota.

Farm Yard Duluth

Everyone is lined up on the hill for the photo.  They have quite a unique fence off to the right…it looks to be built from posts and poles are woven in and out of the posts.

  5. This type of fence is (was) common in Norway (and probably also Sweden/Finland), and is called a "skigard" (fence made of "skis", long logs of wood). I think the buildings and landscape also look Norwegian, but it could be many places, I guess.

  6. Very Scandinavian scenery. The fence is a type called "skigard" (look it up) and is today used as a decorative fence in rural areas in Norway and Sweden.
