Thanks for stopping by.  Do come again.

Update from Susanna Rosalie:
There is a short biography published in 1918 about Herschel Bartlett (1841- 1920) and his brother William H. Bartlett (1845 - 1904). They had the Bartletts Brothers Investment & Loan Company in St. Joseph. A park in the town has been named after the Bartletts and the Mausoleum is a waymark.

From Iggy:
Hershel married Emilie P. Nye on July 23, 1883  and his younger brother David L. married Anna E. Oakes on March 2, 1881. They were sister-in-laws.

  2. I will make a beginning with the info I was able to collect so far: From just searching the internet I found out that there has been quite some genealogy research going on for Bartletts from St. Joseph, Missouri. Unfortunately, I could not come up with a recent e-mail-contact to a researcher yet. The only one I found (without having to register at a genealogy website) was from 2001. I will try some more later.

So it might well be that Emily and Annie Bartlett are somehow related to the honorable Bartlett brothers of St. Joseph.

There is a Northwest Missouri Genealogical Society, which I have not checked out yet.

  4. Interesting expression on the lower-positioned one's face. The higher-positioned woman seems to be protecting the other. I sense a bond between them.
