Flower girl Duluth Antiques

A flower girl holding her basket of flowers or perhaps a basket filled with rice packets to give to guests.

She is a cutie!

Thanks for stopping by during wedding month.  Now I will see if I can collect 30 more wedding photos for next June:)

These are snapshots from the antique shop in Moorhead Minnesota.

Wedding group two Moorhead MN antique shop

I think these may be from the 1950’s.

The bride wears a white gown most likely taffeta covered in a layer of lace.  The gown is an off the shoulder style.  The bride wears a veil and carries a large bouquet of flowers.  The groom wears a three piece suit with a tie and wears a boutonniere on his lapel.

I will guess that this is a photo of the brides mother and brothers.

This photo is most likely from the 1940’s.  The bride wears a floor length long sleeved white gown, her veil is floor length and seems to fall from an almost regal headpiece. She carries a huge bouquet of roses. The groom wears a suit and tie.

The groom wears a three piece suit, a white shirt and a tie.  He also sports a boutonniere.  The bride wears a white gown with long sleeves and what appears to be a train still back in the doorway and a veil that has a headpiece that looks like huge ears.  She also wears a string of pearls and carries a bouquet of Calla Lilies.

Wedding Sailor and Bride California D L Antiques

The photographer was E.F. Joseph of Oakland Calif.

This photograph was most likely taken in the early 1940’s.  I wonder if this young sailor returned home?  The bride wears a dark suit with a white blouse and has a huge corsage.  She also wears a dark hat or headband of sorts, pearls and a bracelet with a heart on it.

couple and a car two DL Antiques

A couple on their wedding day in the 1940’s.   I am not sure what kind of car is in the background.  During the war years 1941 to 1945 many weddings were simple and spur of the moment before a soldier shipped out.

I tried to read the license plate with no luck.  This was a photo taken by someone who developed their own film, there were two photos and the other is the reversed image of this one.

This is a photo from the third antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.

Wedding Dorset 3 Waves in her hair

The brides hairstyle of fingerwaves dates this photo to the 1920’s and 1930’s.  I would guess more 1930ish for this one.

Wedding Dorset 3 Waves in her hair

The bride wears an ankle length lacy dress, she clutches a bouquet of roses and wears a necklace and bracelet. The one curl in her hairstyle looks out of place to me, but she must have thought it looked beautiful, perhaps it was her signature style.  The groom wears a three piece suit, white shirt and a tie.  He has a pencil thin moustache. That style moustache was clipped so that it looked like it was drawn with a pencil.

This is a snapshot from a garage sale in Park Rapids Minnesota.

Might be a Bride PR garage sale

Another unknown bride at an unknown location..standing outside of a building with vines, perhaps it was a church.

The bride wears a ankle length gown made of a print fabric with a long white veil, white shoes and she carries some kind of a basket.

She looks like an early 1930’s bride to me..a time after the Great Depression when people made do with what they had.

Wedding wonder what year

They are both smiling!  I think this is probably from the 1920’s.

The bride wears a tiered lacy dress with a floor length veil and short sleeves.  She carries a bouquet of flowers.

The gentleman has no flowers, it is possible that he is giving away this bride in an outdoor ceremony..or perhaps they moved out of doors for a better photo opportunity.

I think this photo is from the 1920’s.

I purchased it because of her beautiful white boots!  The brides gown has an uneven hemline ( it is longer in back) she has an almost floor length veil with a beautiful head piece adorned with flowers and some trailing greens.   She also carries a huge bouquet and wears a small corsage.  The groom is wearing a three piece suit, a striped shirt, a white tie with a tie pin and a boutonniere.

This is a photograph from the antique shop in Nevis Minnesota.

Nevis Wedding Photo

The early1920’s to 1930’s brought about different looks in photography.  The photos have the same linen rag base and gelatin emulsion treatment but they were enhanced with a toner coating fixer of sepia or silver tones.

This is a sepia toned photograph of a wedding photograph. Men’s clothing changes so slowly, a suit and a white tie.  The bride wears a gauzy looking gown with a V neckline, her hair is simple and pulled away from her face or maybe it is shorter hairstyle.  She carried an arm full of flowers.

Postcard AZO Triangles up Wedding group DL ant

This is an AZO postcard with triangles pointing up in the stamp box that would indicate it is from 1904 to 1918.

I will guess it is closer to the 1918 date.  Wedding gowns are changing styles, note that the high necked gowns are a thing of the past, at least for this bride.  Even though there are no flowers in this photo from the way their rings are prominently displayed I believe it is a wedding photo.

Pr Wedding 1914 photo three

A unknown wedding party.  The photographer was J. Tessman from Wadena Minnesota.   He was in business there in 1914.

The groom is resplendent in a three piece suit with a white bow tie,  a watch fob and a corsage.

The brides wears a non white gown trimmed in lace.  A bouquet of flowers rests in her lap, she wears a corsage and there are flowers on her floor length bridal bonnet.

The attendants have flowers and bear an uncanny resemblance to the bride and groom respectively.  ( They could be two sets of twins?)

The brides white gown is pigeon breasted, with three quarter length sleeves and a bow at the waist.  She wears fingerless long gloves, a bridal bonnet adorned with flowers, a corsage and a locket.

The groom wears a three piece suit with a white ribbon tie and a corsage. His collar is most likely a detachable collar, you could buy 2 collars for 25cents.  Detachable collars came in different styles and different heights and neck sizes, most of the different styles had names.  Collars were kept in a collar box.

The photographer was Luarry of Alcester S.D.

The bride is seated clutching a bouquet of flowers.  She also wears a corsage and a flower in her hair.  Her gown is very similar to #1251 and #1252.  It must have been a style that was popular in Norway and the design and the color was used here in the United States.  The gown is pigeon breasted, has a high collar and is long sleeved trimmed in lace.

The groom wears a three piece suit, a white bow tie and a corsage.  He looks like he usually works outside while wearing a hat.

The bride’s gown seems to be a darker color.  It is pigeon breasted with tight lower sleeves. The upper bodice of the gown is trimmed in embroidery.  She wears a corsage and flowers in her hair.  She also has a heart shaped brooch on her lacy high collar.  I always wonder what color was this dress?

Rarely do we see a couple sitting down in a wedding photograph.  Perhaps she was feeling faint as you can see her leaning towards and on him.

This is most certainly a photo from around 1900.  The brides gown is pigeon breasted. Her gown is white or perhaps ivory and it is trimmed with lace. She carries a bouquet of flowers.  She also wears a corsage and a wedding bonnet adorned with flowers and tendrils.

The groom wears a suit and waistcoat/vest with a pocket watch, a corsage and a white bowtie.

I would have guessed by the brides gown that this photo was taken a little earlier around 1895, simply from the size of her sleeves.  The bride wears a gown trimmed with lace at the neckline and sleeves, the bodice sports a bow. Her bridal bonnet is floor length and the headpiece seems to have flowers that have escaped in tendrils.  The groom wears a cutaway jacket, a white bow tie and a corsage.  You can also see the posing stand behind his left foot.
