This is a Real Photo Postcard from the Then and Now Antique Shop in Alexandria Minnesota.
Note the shiny stockings, I think they were silk. She has some beautiful fingerwaves in her hair and those glasses must have been the height of fashion! Her shift like dress seems to be velvet trimmed in something fuzzy.
Catherine Louisa Sandberg Brooklyn NY February 1926.
This is an Azo Postcard with squares in the corners where the stamp goes. They were used from 1925 to 1940.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again::)
I love her finger waves.
ReplyDeleteBig dental appt. tomorrow - may be missing for several days. Take care.
Hope the dentist visit went well.
DeleteShe looks like she is trying so hard to look glamorous, but I also immediately noticed the stockings.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but perhaps this is the daughter of Gustav Per and Margaret E. Sandberg, who lived in Saint Paul at the time of the photo. The census records for 1920 show Catherine Sandberg and 1910 shows Katherine L Sandberg born about 1907. Catherine is not shown beyond that - so she is another woman that "poofs."
ReplyDeleteBrother Gustaf Paul worked as an Embalmer and is buried (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=99590321)
