This is a photo from the third antique shop in Dorset Minnesota.
The brides hairstyle of fingerwaves dates this photo to the 1920’s and 1930’s. I would guess more 1930ish for this one.
The bride wears an ankle length lacy dress, she clutches a bouquet of roses and wears a necklace and bracelet. The one curl in her hairstyle looks out of place to me, but she must have thought it looked beautiful, perhaps it was her signature style. The groom wears a three piece suit, white shirt and a tie. He has a pencil thin moustache. That style moustache was clipped so that it looked like it was drawn with a pencil.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
Pretty flowers. I'm not quite so sure I care for the "fake palm tree(s)". :)
ReplyDeleteI noticed that kind of a curl on a character in a movie or show (can't remember what) from that same era. Maybe it was the style. Pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteActually she has two curls, one on each side of her face. The couple looks happy, I like this photo.
ReplyDeleteShe does have two..thanks for pointing it out! :)
DeleteThanks for pointing out the second curl or I would have missed it! :)
DeleteKiss curls (or spit curls) were all the rage in the 20s. She obviously was very fashion conscious. They are perfect! I bet she has another one on the side of her face we can't see like the other one by her ear. I'm particularly interested in the fact that she clearly doesn't have bobbed hair. It is longer and curled in the back but she still works finger waves in with them! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThey look quite pleased with themselves.
