Photo Number 1244

This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

Cabinet Card New York Photo Co DL Antiques

They are holding hands!  The Groom has the top button fastened on his cutaway morning coat.  He wears a small corsage.  The Bride is wearing a gown with huge sleeves and many bows on the bodice and a bow on each sleeve.  She also wears a Bridal Bonnet trimmed with flowers and a small corsage.  Her dress is not black or white but some other color.

The Photo Studio was New York Portrait Co.  Do you suppose they just got off a ship?  I will guess that this photo was taken in about 1895.

  2. I have seen a number of old portraits of men with only the top button of their coat fastened. It must have been a fashion of the time. Good post.
