This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
They are holding hands! The Groom has the top button fastened on his cutaway morning coat. He wears a small corsage. The Bride is wearing a gown with huge sleeves and many bows on the bodice and a bow on each sleeve. She also wears a Bridal Bonnet trimmed with flowers and a small corsage. Her dress is not black or white but some other color.
The Photo Studio was New York Portrait Co. Do you suppose they just got off a ship? I will guess that this photo was taken in about 1895.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
He is very handsome.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a number of old portraits of men with only the top button of their coat fastened. It must have been a fashion of the time. Good post.
