  1. The young lady's attire suggests this snap was taken during or near World War II, possibly about 1945. And what a grand middle-class house that was! I hope it's still standing and being enjoyed as the happy home of some deserving family.

  2. My sis and I were talking about when folks wore a scarf tied under the chin like this. Karen still does and her granddaughters get a hoot out of it!

  3. Like Karen, Charlotta wears head scarfs. She may not know they are now verboten. Though I hope she does know but doesn't care what others are [not] doing. I never did understand the undeniable need of many to copy others, which though present in lesser degrees in many males seems to be much more pronounced in most females.
