This is an Azo Postcard from 1904 to 1918.
Esther Rose
Helia Erickson
Sisters? Student and teacher?
I purchased this postcard in an antique shop in Duluth Minnesota.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:
Update from Iggy:
Helia Marie Erickson (24 Nov 1901 - 15 Apr 2006 at the age of 104!!)
Esther Rose (22 Nov 1908 - 5 Feb 1991) of the same town (Duluth, Saint Louis, MN) married an Erickson - so they were likely sister-in-laws.
Esther Rose married Emmanuel Erickson (03 December 1900 - 02 May 1967)
It's a charming picture of two young ladies back about 1916, give or take a year or two, I would guess. And if I had to place a bet on their relationship, I'd bet a buck they were sisters. The photographer's prop chair is interesting, too.
ReplyDeleteBoth young women are beautiful! What a fabulous Christmas gift it would be to a family member for this photo to return home!
ReplyDeleteI think I found Helia Erickson.

This appears to be another photo of her at a later age:

ReplyDeleteOne good point about being late in reading here: I get to see everyone's comments with the scoop on what can be found out about the subjects. Kudos to Iggy once again! How interesting that these two turned out to be in-laws. And interesting that Helia made it to 104. Bet she saw an eyeful of changes throughout her long life!
