This week we will look at some photos with names.
This is a Cabinet Card from the antique shop in Brainerd Minnesota. G. F. Martin was the photographer of 134 and 136 West Market Street Louisville, Ky.
The pencil marks are faint. I have enhanced them. I believe it says Carl Edwin Foreman 1 yr 8 mos. old
I think this cabinet card looks to be from 1895 to 1900. Note his hair is parted on the side, typical for a little boy.
Thanks for stopping by. Do come again:)
Carl E Foreman appears in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 US censuses, son of Rudy/Rudolph and Lizzie/Elizabeth Foreman. His date of birth is given as Feb 1897, 1898, and 1899 - and he was born in Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteI think he married a woman named Mary - (the 1930 US census shows him as Carl Forman) and died in Ranger, Eastland county, Texas in 1983.
Such a sweet and healthy baby - love the info provided in comment above!
ReplyDeleteI was mistaken. Carl may have died in Louisville, Kentucky. The census records are confusing since Carl's last name is spelled, Foreman, Forman, Formon, and his WWI draft registration has Forman (but it is definitely the same Carl Edwin For(e)man born 20 Feb 1898.)
ReplyDeleteCarl E. Forman had a son with the same name, buried in Louisville, KY -

The name on the back of the photo definitely has an "e" in it though.
Great follow up!
ReplyDeleteThis may be his son
ReplyDeleteFORMAN, CARL E. "BUGS," died Friday, October 15, 2010 at St. Luke Nursing Home in North Canton, OH.
Until recently, he had lived the last 20 years in Louisville. He was born August 14, 1923 in Louisville to Carl E. and Mary Lee (Drane) Forman.
