It is in a frame.
I took a photograph.
I decided not to take this old photograph out of the frame. I think it might be a cabinet card, but I cannot be sure while it is in the frame. The paper on the back is very fragile.

This photograph was professionally framed by Decker’s Art Store in Duluth Minnesota.

From Anonymous:
In 1857, Ole Ingebrigtsen (born 1835, probably February 2nd, so 22 at the time), together with wife Kari Brynildsdtr (25) and daugther Inger (3), living at the farm Gjære (Gjerde?) at Voss in the western Norwegian mountains, emigrated to America. A possible match?
The Norwegian digital archives has a list of the following Norwegians in Medo, Blue Earth, Minnesota in 1880:
Ole Ingebritson m 45
Kary Ingebritson f 49
Martin E Ingebritson m 20
Albert Ingebritson m 18
Bessie Ingebritson f 16
(Clearly the same as Intense Guy found.)
The age difference between Ole and Kary may match the emigrants from Voss, another indication they are the right couple. However, Inger has dissappeared.
This photo went Full Circle 68 on March 25 2013.
Amazing that it is still in the frame.

ReplyDeleteCool frame! I like that umbrella in her hand! So practical!
ReplyDeleteI think this is Ole and Carin:

Albert married Nettie L. Rusdall in 10 Jul 1891. He died on 17 Dec 1917 in Duluth, St. Louis, Minnesota.
They had at least three sons and a daughter according to the 1900 US Census -- https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M99B-Q9P
They look like a kindly couple. I would have difficulty in resisting taking it out of the frame - I once found several other older photos in the back of a frame, so am always tempted!

In the above post, "Ingrid" should be "Inger".
