Postcard Cyco Lizzie Dawson Family Dorset 1
Is this the Papa she spoke of ( Papa Dawson) or is this her husband ( Mr. Waldie)?   Lizzie Dawson Waldie?  Thomas Dawson Waldie and the baby must be his son or daughter.  The only name we know for sure is Thomas Dawson Waldie.
This Real Photo Postcard is a Cyko from 1904 to 1920.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

Update from Iggy:
"Mr. Waldie married Miss Elizabeth Dawson, of Carnegie,
Pennsylvania, and they have three children:

Thomas is associated actively with the lumber company of which his
father is president.

Stanley entered the nation's service, from Michigan in connection
with the World war, and was assigned to the Motor Trans-
port Corps.

Jean, the only daughter, is the wife of Jamie
Miller, of Norwalk, Ohio."  Jean died in 1923.

1930 US Census - Point Pleasant, Mason, West Virginia

Thomas D Waldie married to Bonnie D Waldie and they had two children at that time,
Thomas D Waldie 5 and William J Waldie (just born).

It was Thomas Dawson Waldie that died 18 Dec 1939 at age 49. Bonnie was born in 1904, and lived to a ripe age - never remarrying.

  1. William Stanley Waldie (b. 1894 in Carnegie, PA) married Nellie Belle Cole (b. 1894 in Norwalk, Huron County, OH) on 28 May 1917. The father's name is William J. Waldie and the mother's name is Elizabeth Dawson.

Jean Waldie Miller (b. 1891 in Carnegie, PA d. 28 Jun 1923 in Norwalk, Huron, Ohio at age 32y 10m 8d) She was married to Jamie H. Miller, and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Thomas Dawson Waldie (b. 20 Dec 1889 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) was a Grocery clerk, Perigo & Son, Hood River, Oregon, which is 50 miles up the river from Washougal, WA.

I suspect the baby is Thomas' and his wife Jane's. His daugther, Lizzie Jane died on 18 Dec 1939 in Mason, West Virginia at the age of 49.

  2. I think I may have made a mistake about Lizzie Jane being Thomas' daughter.

William J Waldie (b. abt 1865 in PA) is listed in the 1930 US Census living in Point Pleasant, Mason, West Virginia with his wife, Lizzie J. Point Pleasant, WV is on the Ohio state line about 50 miles north-northeast of Charleston, WV.

William Stanley Waldie (d. 17 Apr 1968 in Mason, West Virginia)

"Back east" looks like it was Western PA, mid-Ohio and western WV.

  3. I think I've got it now.

"Mr. Waldie married Miss Elizabeth Dawson, of Carnegie,
Pennsylvania, and they have three children: Thomas is
associated actively with the lumber company of which his
father is president. He was identified with the Govern-
ment ship-building activities at Portland, Oregon, and after
the close of the war he was identified with business inter-
ests at Hood River, that state, until about the opening of
the year 1922, when he came to Point Pleasant and became
associated with his father's lumber business. Stanley en-
tered the nation's service, from Michigan in connection
with the World war, and was assigned to the Motor Trans-
port Corps. Jean, the only daughter, is the wife of Jamie
    Miller, of Norwalk, Ohio."

Bonnie died in 2005 (I've found an obit) and a living offspring of her and Thomas who works at a historical museum in Point Pleasant, WV.

  4. I don't think the baby is Thomas'. It might be Jean's - Jean died in 1923, so the "feeling okay for now" comment might be regarding her? Her husband was Jamie Henry Miller (04 Oct 1891 - 09 Jan 1975 in Sarasota, Florida)

It was Thomas Dawson Waldie that died 18 Dec 1939 at age 49. Bonnie was born in 1904, and lived to a ripe age - never remarrying.

  5. Thomas has a fine head of hair, as does the younger man in the 2nd photo. You could be right - maybe the older man is Papa Dawson and Mr Waldie is the younger one? Or maybe Mr Waldie was taking the photo? Or could the 2nd photo be of Jean, her Dad, her brother Thomas, and her baby? The young man's collar style is the same in both pics, so maybe the photos were taken within a few years of each other. I'm guessing :-) not much help!
