Photo Number 635

This is a photo from the Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota.
White Bow and Tie DL Antiques
L. (edited to S for Suph) Hikell Artist of Beresford So Dak was the photographer.

This photo shows the heavy silvering of the early gelatin silver photograph process.  Hints of blue or green can be seen in the dark areas of the photograph.  I will guess that this photo was taken sometime around 1905-1915.

This young lady wears a pinstriped blouse with a white tie that has a brooch at the neck and a pin.  The bow in her hair matches her tie.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

Update : From Iggy on the photographer.
The artist was Suph Hikell, born in "Asia" in 1875, immigrated in 1888, living in Prarie Township, Beresford Village, Union county, SD according to the 1900 US census with his wife Betsy (b. Feb. 1875 in S. Dakota) and son Edward (b. Dec 1896 in S. Dakota).

  1. That scarf looks so very uncomfortable! Pretty jewelry.
