This is a photo from the Antique Shop in Dorset.
It is a horse drawn school bus. I think it says ------? Consolidated School Dist. 42 Route No. 2
Here I have perked up the print a bit. Al is a Canadian reader that loves these challenges..perhaps he is still reading..and can figure it out!
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)
I've never seen a photo like this one, Connie. I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo different.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a photo like this one either! And wow! are those kids crammed into that wagon!
ReplyDeleteThose kids were so lucky to have a school bus. I am sure the distances were just to far for them to walk. It is a marvelous photo.
ReplyDeleteAl sent me an email, he thinks it may say Badger School District..I will send him a higher resolution photo and see if that helps to see it better:)
ReplyDeleteI found a reference to a Consolidated School District 42.
ReplyDeleteA Charles A. Hausler "Photograph of pencil and ink" of one of the school buildings is:
http://special.lib.umn.edu/findaid/xml/naa006.xml about 1/4 the way down the page.
The school districts must have been renumbered since Badger is no longer #42.
The wheels on the wagon go round and round.
ReplyDeleteround and round,
round and round.
Mama told me about riding a buck board to school behind a horse named "Old Nell." Old Nell had a flatulence problem - so the ride was never without entertainment.
ReplyDeleteMama said that once she had some gas and all the kids teased her by calling her "Old Nell"
