Photo Number 347

Fred Hickle GR
Meet Fred Hickle, he is the last in this series of old photos from an Antique Shop in Grand Rapids Minnesota, and with this photo we come to the end of the Mystery of Aunt Fan. We know a little more about her and her family.   There were several other CdV’s that were marked just like these at the Antique Shop.   I have asked someone to purchase them for me, I have not heard if they were successful or not.
Fred Hickle two GRThis is the back of Fred’s CdV.  I did find out that the Sun-Beam Gallery was in operation using this logo from 1866-1880 so we can date this photo sometime during that time.
I will mail these CdV’s off to Ruth in Texas.  She seems to be the only relative that we are going to find.  When I have heard back from her I will do a Full Circle Post.
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

Update: Iggy found this info about Fred..thanks Iggy!

  1. I think you ended on a bigger mystery than Aunt Fan! Who was Mr. Hickle?

Do you suppose John, "Fred", and Wall/Charles Bennett may have been "army buddies"?

  4. A Republican at that time is much different from a Republican now. How interesting that he is a veteran. I think it is a good possibility that they may have met during the war. Not only did units get combined with others as their membership diminished, they were quartered together, imprisoned together, and recuperated in hospitals together. Good work, Iggy!
