Photo Number 286

Postcard Woman and Girl BVA

This is a Real Photo Postcard a Cyko brand postcard from 1904 to 1920.  A Mother and her daughter..that would be my best guess, I also think that there is a cat or dog in the grass between them.  The little girl has a real “Little House on the Prairie” look going on with the dress and the ribbons in her hair.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  1. The animal (if it is one) is really lost in the grass! I like this picture - its timelessly well-posed.

The little girl is really cute and her "minder" has a trace of a rye smile.

  2. I enjoy looking at old photos, makes you wonder about them, the stories they can tell! I like photographing historical country buildings and old farms in black and white, seems to keep the history alive in the shot !

    This is a beautiful photograph.

  7. The child is beautiful - she looks old way above her years. I'm hoping she kept that spark all through her life.

  8. It is a classic. Being dressed up at the beach or going to a park didn't make sense, but one wouldn't want to catch in anything in public other than your best.
