Photo Number 112

Another unmarked photo from the antique shop.  This one was damaged..so I repaired it.  This gal has great finger waves in the front of her hair. They are still taught in beauty schools..I know because I asked for them one time when I went in for a haircut..her jaw about dropped to the floor.  No, I really didn't want finger waves..I just wanted a reaction.  My mother used to have long silver clips, she would  put a gel in her hair..form the finger waves and then put the clips in to hold her wave in place until her hair dried.

I think this photo may be from the late 1940's or the early 1950's.

Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  1. Very similar to my mom and aunt's hairstyles from that time period.

  2. I remember mom and grandma trying for waves, when the perm was working anymore. The pose reminds me of senior pictures when they would place girls in that position, just like a Hollywood shot.

  3. You sure do a nice job on repairs!! I can't detect where the repair was made. Which program do you use for this? ~Abra

  4. Abra, There was a big hole in her cheek..it showed up white. I use Adobe Elements Photoshop..a very frustrating program..but I am getting better at it..this blog is great practice!!
