Another unmarked photo from the antique shop. This one was damaged..so I repaired it. This gal has great finger waves in the front of her hair. They are still taught in beauty schools..I know because I asked for them one time when I went in for a haircut..her jaw about dropped to the floor. No, I really didn't want finger waves..I just wanted a reaction. My mother used to have long silver clips, she would put a gel in her hair..form the finger waves and then put the clips in to hold her wave in place until her hair dried.
I think this photo may be from the late 1940's or the early 1950's.

Very similar to my mom and aunt's hairstyles from that time period.
ReplyDeleteI remember mom and grandma trying for waves, when the perm was working anymore. The pose reminds me of senior pictures when they would place girls in that position, just like a Hollywood shot.

ReplyDeleteAbra, There was a big hole in her cheek..it showed up white. I use Adobe Elements Photoshop..a very frustrating program..but I am getting better at it..this blog is great practice!!
