Photo Number Seventy-Four

This is Billie Schueler ..I  think this photo has a foreign flair to it..just a sense..he looks quite dapper, his tie is  tied to pop out rather like some of the guys did in the 1970's ( I think I have that pictured correct in my old brain) ..and the photo presentation is in a very long card.  With the crown on top and the crest on the bottom..perhaps it is Canadian?

I have no idea about a date on this one. 1920's or 1930's ??
Thanks for stopping by, do come again:)

  1. Isn't that interesting? I have Schulers in my family, but have seen the name spelled Schueler, schuller, shuler, etc. I know there were quite a few Schulers that came through Mn, over to northeast ND (Cavalier Co. mainly for my branch), but also moved north to Canada, which would work for this picture. The name and its variations are quite common, so it makes the searching a little more difficult, but I will try to look into this in the next day or two. I wonder if some of your other readers have a guess about the origin of the presentation card?

  2. It would be a person with some money to have such a fancy choice of card. I wonder if it was a graduation card, or even a coming out card, if they did that for men too.

  4. He was a very good looking man and looks distinguished - in a young sort of way. Wonder if he had some royal lineage in him.

  5. Looks like it could be Canadian or British with the crown and coat of arms embossing.

  6. I don't know much about heraldry, but I looked at a site that carries definitions and the lion means dauntless courage, and the sun means glory and splendor. If this is in fact his coat of arms, there was some lineage to nobility. However, I have two coats of arms and the lineage to nobility is so far removed I don't really know what it could do for me. :-) I had thought of trying to find famous coats of arms but I just don't have the time now.
