Photo Number Twenty-Five

This is one of the photos that I was greatly impressed with..unfortunately it is in horrible shape.  It is on a different kind of paper..or canvas..almost leathery.  I have worked to restore this photo..it is not perfect, but good enough for my purposes. I love the veil and the huge bouquets of flowers!  I am not sure of a year?  What do you think?  1930?

Thanks for dropping by, have a great day:)

  1. I don't have a clue, although the round glasses remind me of some I have seen from the 20's. I can't tell if it is just the photo quality or if it is real, but the bride appears to be wearing anklets. Seems sort of odd. You did a good job with the repair. It was in rough shape for sure.

  2. I can't guess the year but I sure love those lovely bouquets. I think the best man looks like a young Bill Clinton!

  3. Yes, I think it was taken in the 1920s. I have several photos of my mother during that time period, wearing the same round-rimmed glasses.

    Great job on the repair.

  4. The bridesmaid appears to be wearing nylons and that makes me think much later....

  5. the bride's hat is most interesting. It reminds me of those Dutch hats that cock up on the sides. I don't know what they are called. I think the "anklets" are a trick of the image. I see pumps and a wrinkle in the paper. The bridesmaid could be wearing silk hose. If this was a 1920s photo - which I'm inclined to think it is - silk hose were in use. Nylon was discovered in the 30s and in the 40s both were used for the war effort. Just considering the wedding photos I've seen from the 20s, I'm going with that decade based on the veil alone. The short dress and huge bouquets are my second line of reasoning.

  6. Both of the women are wearing hose..which is very shiny..must be silk. yes there is an area of the brides legs that look like anklets..it was a spot I did not repair. :)

  7. Wow, look at that tulle or netted veil material all around her too. The wedding hat is most unusual!
